I am a river. [Read the poem "I Am A River"]
I am not the herd. I do not fit into a box. I think way outside the nine dots. I do not just march to the beat of a different drummer, I constantly invent and reinvent in real time a new instrument for drummers to play.
I do not walk the paved nor beaten path, I roam the wilds to find things no one ever sees. [Read the poem "All My Own"]
I take reality as we know it with a grain of salt.
This does not mean I defy reality and the laws of the universe (that's a quick way to die); and it does not mean I defy convention just to defy convention, nor that I am some kind of iconoclast destroying cherished beliefs, traditions, and institutions. I just take such cherished beliefs, traditions, and institutions and push them outside their confining envelopes to expand them beyond their former limitations and open for all new ways to see them, use them, and benefit from them.
I am a visionary actuator—not only a seer of what can be, but a maker who activates what others thought impossible.
A visionary needs to be grounded in the wisdom of established knowledge and tradition, but use imagination to take it beyond its accepted limits. Einstein was a visionary genius and in the end he attributed the bulk of his discoveries and innovations to his imagination, not his intellectual ability or mastery of physics and advanced mathematics.
A visionary skillfully melds wisdom with imagination to open new understanding and to forge new paths.
I have been told over and over again throughout my life: "Oh, that will never work..." "You just don't really understand it and why that's not possible..." "There's no way you can do that..." "That will never get off the ground..." and on and on.....
And then repeatedly and consistently I have rallied those willing to support my vision to my side and together we have brought these ideas and concepts to pass much to the jaw-dropping amazement of the detractors and naysayers.
The proof is in the pudding. Ball don't lie. Nothing left to say.
And those who have neglected my visionary thinking, my bold and audacious ideas, my insistence that we can make things happen—have religiously devoted themselves to their rigorously limiting safe ways and remained in their fettered pasts.
As a river, I do not remain, I continually move on and leave the debris behind.
When people say, "You are way out there, man" I say, "Thank you". [Read the poem "Fringe"]
The true scope of my life, to me, and in my opinion, is not my occupation, what I call my "professional career", but in who and what I am in the broader context of life and living. That does not mean that I am not my authentic self in my professional career, it just means that it does not define me, it does not pigeon-hole me nor place me in its neat and tidy box.
It is more important to me to be fulfilled as a poet-philosopher solivagant exploring life and helping others to find themselves and reconnect themselves with a greater sense of self and nature, and in so doing, perhaps, also discover the greatness it is to know their Creator through His Word and His son, despite the constant obfuscation of man to pave a neat and tidy religious path for the herd to follow, and others' external incessant denials of and fighting against these invented tidy paths of bondage as if they truly represent the Creator when all the while He is not to be found on those illusory man-invented paths, but as always and forever, He is roaming the wilds.
