The Clockwork Universe: An 18th century Orrery, a mechanical model of the solar system, a kind of planetarium that predicts accurately the position of heavenly bodies as determined by Newtonian physics. "It will not vary a Degree from the Truth in less that Six Thousand Years, if the present order of Nature subsists." The oldest of these devices is the Antikythera Mechanism, constructed some 2,200 years ago!

On the Nature of Time
Greetings from the University of London where I presented on the nature of time, a paper titled Einstein's Block Universe and Parmenides' Being. I argued that, in the block universe, the past is not gone, it is present; and the future, like the present, is, well, present, too. A result extracted from the equations of Einstein's special theory of relativity and the philosophy (particularly, the ontology) of Parmenides. —2020
Aloha from Hawaii where I presented my research. After the conference I took some time off to play. Shouldn't I? :-) —(2017)
Philosophy of Physics

It's for the Sake of Science :-)
Space is pushing me down—that’s how gravity works in Einstein’s general relativity.
But I'm also pushed up because like-charges repel—that is, the electrons of the atoms of my hands and the electrons of the atoms of the tree repel each other.
I'm pushed up for yet another reason, because electrons push against each other to avoid overcrowding—a quantum law formally known as the Pauli Exclusion Principle.
The result, a scientifically spirited balancing act where:
down = up + up

Measuring Gravity
Newton knew how an apple falls but not why it falls. Einstein, after a relentless tenacious thinking upon it for ten years, finally figured it out: it is space that's pushing the apple! —(2012)

With the great mathematician Marion Lee Johnson, intelligent, humble, kind, dreamer, a "Hidden Figure," a crucial member of the NASA team responsible for America's successful First Manned Lunar Landing on July 20, 1969, with the Apollo 11 mission, where Neil Armstrong famously said "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." —Bloomfield College Commencement, May 21, 2021.
