The good news, we were able to extract the operating system image file (.bin file) during the USB creation. Download the Chrome OS flex (.bin) 1GB file and burn it using a tool like Rufus to quickly create Chrome OS flex bootable media and run it.

5. Keep clicking Continue to make a recovery image on the USB drive. This step will take a few minutes, but when it's done, your USB drive will become an installer key that you can use to install Chrome OS Flex.

I'm able to create it both via the Chrome browser extension, and the terminal sudo dd if=chromeos.bin of=/dev/disk2 bs=4M status=progress method... but after both methods, it shows the same wya in Disk Utility, however it's not readable in macOS, so Parallels cannot install from it -- there's no way to pick it as the USB drive source, or open the .bin image.

I downloaded the latest ChromeOS-Flex installer and unzipped and inflated the image file to set up the .bin and wow it's almost 7 gigabytes!?! Did I do something wrong and somehow tripled the size? Now to do something with the chromeos_15393.58.0_reven_recovery_stable-channel_mp-v2.bin file............

Plug your USB stick or SD card in and on the scary "OS Verification is OFF"screen hit Ctrl+u to boot from external media. If all goes well you should see a"Chromium OS" logo screen. If you want to install your build to the SSD, open ashell and type "sudo /usr/sbin/chromeos-install". Note: This will replaceEVERYTHING on your SSD. Use a recovery image if you want to get back to a stockChrome OS build. e24fc04721
