OUR MISSION
OUR MISSION
The Alzheimer’s Support Group is to offer care givers, family and loved ones of those afflicted with Alzheimer’s or any related dementia with support and information.
Meetings focus on emotional support and sharing experiences or on education, with experts speaking on topics such as, legal issues, nutrition, caregiving and community resources.
We encourage members to give and receive mutual support, exchange coping skills, and offer suggestions. Offer experiences with local resources, such as transportation, day care, legal and medical issues.
It is an opportunity to vent frustrations, anger and disappointments, freedom to express without feeling guilt, that this is a non-judgmental , open forum to be honest with others who face similar situations where you can find some hope in seeing others who have survived the caregiving experience.
Each member is a unique individual with unique needs, and we hope to offer each person supportive listening, some problem-solving techniques and coping skills to better help each caregiver with their loved one.
Each member is taking a first step in restructuring their lives and forming connections with “extended family”.
