The Delta Climate Project is an effort to help normalize and document the impacts of climate driven events in the USA. We want to create a safe place to share pictures and videos to help document your personal experiences with climate change. As of 2021, no national database existed to help ordinary people share their experiences of climate related events. Furthermore, researchers lacked the ability to easily search geographically precise information. All information collected was voluntarily contributed and will be freely open for use by scientists, planners, emergency managers, and the like.

The Greek Letter Delta, Δ, is often used as short hand to denote "change." Our mission is to empower change in communities and to document climate change. Hence the "Change" Climate name.
