We are very excited to share the latest map of our Hurdygurdy Mountain Bike Trail proposal. For the past few weeks the design team from Trail Labs, Inc., has ground proofed maps and flagged the trails shown. The colors just represent each trail segment, though the yellow along the main road is the existing Kelsey Trail. Fox Ridge Road will allow shuttling to the top of this trail system. Big Flat Campground will provide opportunity to stay and ride. We hope this trail system provides something for all ability levels that people will want to return to time after time.
Next steps include Forest Service specialists review and creation of an environmental document. Once completed, reviewed and approved, it will be ready to build. Until that time comes we will be looking for grants and donations to pay for construction.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to support this project, send a check to our 501-C3 fiscal sponsor Redwood Parks Conservancy at 1111 Second St, Crescent City, CA 95531. They will return a tax ID number for your records. Just note that your donation is to help build this trail.
Non tax deductible contributions can be sent directly to Del Norte Trail Alliance, 180 Oak St., Crescent City, CA 95531.
