A recent check of the drivers for my laptop on the support page under its Service Tag showed several needed updating. All went through ok until the WiFi driver and Bios update. The WiFi driver install failed. I attempted to download it from the support site to try again but it just hangs and nothing downloads.

I had this problem, finally tried calling Dell support. My laptop is only 6 months old and this happened. I was told that the laptop needed to get to Dell for repair of this driver, and due to COVID, I couldn't bring it into a store, so they sent me the packaging and label to send to them. Did that. Now they are telling me I have to pay for a new screen because my screen is broken and I can't prove that it wasn't. I'm soooo annoyed by this, I am at my wits end because I've been dealing with this for over a month now. So disappointed in Dell. I will not buy another Dell laptop again.

Hi. I've had this problem with my G14, same model. Remove

everything plugged in, including AC Press the power button for

60s ( yes the whole 60 seconds ), after that try to turn on the

laptop again. This forces a reset in wifi and Bluetooth card. And

worked for me. Let me know if it worked

I have wifi driver R228308 installed on my Inspiron 1555 (after I just reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything), this gives me ver 12.04.000 installed. I then tried installing R246753 which is suppose to upgrade me to ver 13.00.000. When it runs it asks me if I am sure that I want to upgrade and I say yes then I get another screen popup which says "This application must be installed using the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless installer. This installation will exit."

Now for an additional question. The driver & wifi from your link iis for ver16 which shows up that way in my "Programs and Features" but when I go into my "Device Manager" the Wifi 5100 driver shows as version 14.3.2.1 Can you explain that to me?Thanks for your help

I know at one point Intel told me to manually unistall previous driver and I did that from "Programs and Feature". Now when I look at "Programs and Features" it shows "Intel Proset/Wireless Software" Version 16.1.1 but when I look at my adapter in the device manager (Intel wifi Link5100 AGN) it shows version 14.3.2.1.

I need Wireless & Bluetooth drivers for Dell Inspiron 15 3567 (Qualcomm) for Windows 10 64-bit. I have already download & install the driver (Realtek PCIe Ethernet Controller Driver & Wireless driver) from Dell support ( -support/product/inspiron-15-3567-laptop/drivers)

Today morning I suddenly faced the wifi issue. There was no wifi option available in 'Network and internet Setting'. Later on, I found driver itself is not available in network adapters section under device manager. So I freshly installed the driver and installation was successful but still faced the same issue and driver is not visible. I did multiple times reboot also but the same issue.

Coming to the issue. As suggested, on 22th June, i installed the manufacture provided dell driver and after that Issue was resolved. The point is to note here, when I was installing driver directly, by double click on driver, it was giving error:- 'unsupported platform'. Then I tried different option i.e update the driver from device manager--> network adapter menu, and driver was upgraded successfully and issue was resolved.

Next morning, when I powered on my laptop, then again driver name was not there and the same issue I faced. Now condition is, I can not install driver from scratch as it gives error. I can not upgrade because currently there is no driver available(no update option).

@OussD After a lot of research, the problem is usually solved by resetting the bios to default, mainly on dell laptops. The problem is caused after doing bios update or installing windows 11.

Also don't forget to install the updated drivers.

Everyone, try removing the driver then shutting down the OS, not reset/reboot. I've been fighting this for 2 days straight and even after a complete OS reinstall/downgrade from 11 to 10 the problem is still there. Immediately after the reinstall the wifi adapter worked, but after a few reboots it went back to the same issues/events in the system log. Then I tried removing the driver and shutting down completely before powering back on and the wifi is now working. For how long who knows, but give this a shot if you are struggling.

I just registered to also confirm the issue is real, and happens in HP Gaming laptops as well, with Realtek Gaming Gbpe Ethernet Devices, which Windows 11 seems to force updating in Windows Update using "Realtek - Net - 1.0.0.23 (Driver Update)", then we need to revert back every time to previous driver (the one from HP supports download page which is SP111133 for me at least, owning a HP Pavillion Gaming 16-a0033ns). Hope this helps someone too and that this issue is fixed! It seems this is not happening in Windows 10, so W10 with latest Realtek drivers seems to be working, the issue is only in W11!
