About Us

Thanks for visiting my Delilah's Critter Care business page! This is such a personal industry where many of you are entrusting me with your homes and more importantly your beloved pets, so I felt it only natural to take a moment to share a little about me. 

As one might predict, I was always the little girl finding injured or homeless animals and begging my parents to help them or let me keep them. I grew up having pets of all kinds... cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, birds, lizards, turtles... you name it, I wanted to take care of it. Come to think of it, (and much to my husbands' dismay) not much has changed, lol!

I've always looked for opportunities to be a voice for the voiceless and have represented that in many ways. I was an Animal Care and Control volunteer for over 10 years, using 4 of those years to foster sick kittens and sick/injured adult cats. 

In the shelter, I did kennel cleaning, dog walking, cat socialization and donation soliciting while maintaining a 13 year retail management career. I decided to move that career into pet retail management with a holistic minded and nutritionally focused company. There I learned not only an incredible amount about pet nutrition, but I dug my heels even deeper with added passions for animal behavior, enrichment and proper husbandry/care.

In that career I spent the last 5 years improving the lives of thousands of pets and pet parents by asking the right questions and offering advice with my gained experience. Quickly I developed an animal loving reputation in my community and people in my neighborhood began asking if I could watch their pets while they were away. All of that coupled with my never-ending entrepreneurial spirit is what eventually led me to focus on what I knew in my heart I had to pursue. I continued to work harmoniously within a pet retail environment until I was able to shift focus onto this full time for the last year. I'm incredibly optimistic about the countless pet families we will have the opportunity to service.
