When it comes to altering how you use Facebook, you have a few choices. If you want to continue using the platform, the first thing you can do is modify and tighten your security and privacy settings.
Alternately, you can deactivate your account temporarily or semi-permanently, suspending it but allowing you to reactivate it later.
Lastly, you can delete your Facebook account permanently. We'll look at how to do all three of them below; you can skip to the section you want if you know exactly what you want to do. Any of these options are possible on the web, iPhone, and iPad.
You might want to download a copy of your Facebook data because deleting your account cannot be reversed. Learn more about that on Facebook's help page.
