H-E-B
My experience with H-E-B has been great! Not only did I learn a ton about inventory management through perpetual accuracy and ways to improve this in my specific store, I also had the opportunities to make so many great connections! From week 1 to week 10, I met so many great individuals who were so welcoming and ready to help me and get to know me in anyway they could! Whether it was at the kick off meeting
Internship Responsibilities
During my internship at H-E-B, I was responsible for completing a project and presentation based on the focus I was given. My focus was inventory management through perpetual accuracy in fresh departments.
In order to complete this, I was responsible for setting up times to meet with department managers to ask about their department inventory and product ordering processes. I was also responsible for creating my schedule around department managers schedules so I was able to shadow them during the day. Lastly, but probably most importantly, I was responsible for creating relationships and connections with H-E-B partners. Not only is this just an imporant aspect of being a leader in any workplace, but it allowed me to gain the trust of partners which made them comfortable enough to talk with me about their processes, what they do well and even what they wish would be better.

Identify one specific learning experience from your internship that was especially meaningful and memorable -- something you think will have a lasting impact on you
Through this internship, I was able to understand what it means to be a leader. At H-E-B, store leaders and partners work hand-in-hand. I often would see store leaders and managers helping partners stock shelves, bag groceries, and much more. One experience that stood out to me was when my store leader stopped what he was doing to take the time to go help the check stands with bagging during a midday rush. This was very admirable because often times, people think that leaders, in general, aren't very hands on. However, at H-E-B, that couldn't be farther from the truth. After seeing instances such as this, I realized that being a leader at H-E-B is more than making sure the store is running properly. It's about working along side other partners, taking care of H-E-B partners just as much as our customers, and always lending a helping hand no matter what you're doing.
