This map shows Alaska from different map projections. In this lab we exported data from the U.S Census Bureau that showed us 3 main cities within Alaska. As you can see that from these different projections the state of Alaska shows a different shape and when using the same scale for all the maps we can see that the maps show us different distances between the 2 cities, Fairbanks and Juneau, AK. Using Arc GIS we added grid lines to show how the globe would be unfolded and how Alaska would be shown, the differences are quite obvious and Alaska seems to be sitting in a weird spot on the globe to show all these warps.
