What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization's membership exceeds 300,000 in more than 15,800 clubs in 149 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders

Dehiwala Toastmasters

Dehiwala Toastmasters Club was founded in June 2019 with the vision of helping more people to excel in public speaking and leadership. Under the charter president TM Nufail Saheel’s leadership the club achieved great heights. The club had very energetic and enthusiastic members who performed very well to bring the most prestigious president Distinguished Club status and Golden Gavel award home including many other awards. 

Then the baton was changed TM Abarnah Kirupananda took the leadership with the responsibility of maintaining the high standards set by the previous team. She along with her team managed to achieve the President Distinguished Status once again and made the Dehiwala Toastmasters Club flag fly high by bringing home many other awards. TM Ragavi Ratnaranjan was installed as the third president of the Dehiwala TMC and she was fortunate to celebrate the 50th Meeting of Dehiwala Toastmasters. 

TM Ragavi and her energetic team did a tremendous job and was able to conduct the first speech craft by Dehiwala TMC. TM Ammar Jawfer was then inaugurated as the 4th president of the Dehiwala TMC and led the club to a prominent position by achieving the phoneix award and triple star award.  TM Komin Karunasekara has now taken the leadership and along with his dynamic team, is driving the club towards achieving greater heights.
