Meeting #99

The 99th Educational Meeting was held on the 9th September 2023 at Life Centre,Ridgeway Place.

Role Players:

• Toastmaster of the day - Dini Weerakkody

• General Evaluator –Samuel Arulanandan

• Grammarian –Thereen Dharmadasa

• Ah Counter – Hasara Vithanage

• Timer -  Kalindu Senarathne

• Round Robin Master - Hasara Vithanage

The meeting started with the President  welcoming all the Toastmasters. There were 2 new guests and the Area Director TM Asiri Ekanayake  present at the meeting, they were introduced to the club. Then the meeting control was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day,Dini Weerakkody.

The Round Robin session was carried out by TM Hasara where everyone present revealed their Harry Potter themed spell they wanted to invent.

Next, we had 2 icebreaker speeches by TM Anouki and TM Hasara who completed thier Level 1 Project 1.

 Next the TMOD conducted a classic Noughts and Crosses game with a small twist of Harry Potter.

The table topic session was held next. All the guests volunteered and spoke about various topics, we definitely found amazing speakers.

The meeting concluded with the guests  and the Area Director TM Asiri Ekanayake sharing their experience of their first meeting at Dehiwala Toastmasters and how much they were able to enjoy and learn from the meeting.

Overall it was a very interesting and enjoyable meeting, which saw the active participation of all the members and guests present and everyone was definitely able to learn a lot! Looking forward to many more such meetings!
