Meeting #98

The 98th Educational Meeting was held on the 26th August 2023 at Life Centre,Ridgeway Place.

Role Players:

• Toastmaster of the day - Komin Karunasekara

• General Evaluator –Mustafa Hamza

• Grammarian –Anouki Perera

• Ah Counter – Hasindu Ranaweera

• Timer -  Yowan Ranaweera

• Round Robin Master - Hasara Vithanage

The meeting started with the President  welcoming all the Toastmasters. There were 5 new guests present at the meeting, they were introduced to the club. Then the meeting control was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Komin Karunasekara

The Round Robin session was carried out by TM Hasara where everyone present revealed their favourite childhood cartoon character.

Next, we had 2 prepared speeches by TM Lehan and TM Inaam who completed their Level 1 project 2 and project 3 respectively.

 Next the Visiting Toastmaster of the day TM Sanara Premaratne from Battaramulla Toastmasters club conducted a presentation on how to deliver a humourous speech . The session from the  former Humourous speech winner which was themed "Joker to Championship " was a great pushup for members to include humour into thier speeches.

The table topic session was held next. All the guests volunteered and spoke about various topics, we definitely found amazing speakers.

The meeting concluded with the guests  and the Visiting Toastmasters sharing their experience of their first meeting at Dehiwala Toastmasters and how much they were able to enjoy and learn from the meeting.

Overall it was a very interesting and enjoyable meeting, which saw the active participation of all the members and guests present and everyone was definitely able to learn a lot! Looking forward to many more such meetings!
