Meeting #97

The 97th Educational Meeting was held on the 19th August 2023 at Life Centre,Ridgeway Place.

Role Players:

• Toastmaster of the day - Mustafa Hamza

• General Evaluator –Saai Syvendra

• Grammarian –Anouki Perera

• Ah Counter – Hasindu Ranaweera

• Timer -  Yowan Ranaweera

• Round Robin Master - Dini Weerakkody

The meeting started with the President  welcoming all the Toastmasters. There were 4 new guests present at the meeting, they were introduced to the club. Then the meeting control was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Mustafa Hamza.

The Round Robin session was carried out by TM Dini where everyone present revealed their favourite Avengers/marvel character.

Next, we had an amazing icebreaker speech by TM Abdullah in the topic of "going with the flow"  and TM Lehan also did his icebreaker speech on the topic "ubuntu".

 Next TM  Komin conducted the much-needed presentation from leadership excellence series on Visionary Leader which opened the eyes of the audience on different leadership styles and characteristics that should be thus maintained to be a one.

TMOD Mustafa proceeded to conduct an intresting quiz on marvel which took the audience by awe as various facts about the popular theme was revealed as a result.

The table topic session was held next. All the guests volunteered and spoke about various topics, we definitely found amazing speakers.Best role player of the day was awarded to the Grammarian Anouki Perera.

The meeting concluded with the guests sharing their experience of their first meeting at Dehiwala Toastmasters and how much they were able to enjoy and learn from the meeting.

Overall it was a very interesting and enjoyable meeting, which saw the active participation of all the members and guests present and everyone was definitely able to learn a lot! Looking forward to many more such meetings!
