Meeting #87

The 87th Educational Meeting was held on the 18th of February 2023. This was also a Joint Meeting with Maharagama Toastmasters Club.

• Ah Counter – Pethmal Jayasooriya

• Timer - Devinda Dissanayake

• Round Robin Master - Ragavi Ratnaranjan

The Toastmaster of the day was the VP Membership of Dehiwala Toastmasters Club, TM Komin Karunasekara and he began the meeting by introducing the theme for the day which was ‘Cartoons’. This meeting was also the Area Director’s visit to Dehiwala Toastmasters Club and AD DTM Samuditha Samaratunga joined virtually via Google Meet as it was a hybrid meeting.

The Round Robin Master for the day, TM Ragavi carried out an interesting Round Robin session under the topic “Lessons learned from your favorite Cartoon”. Next, the prepared speech session was held with four prepared speeches being presented and evaluated. Speeches were given by Toastmasters Ruwanthi and Chinthaka from Maharagama Toastmasters Club, while Toastmasters Rimesh and Rajindh of Dehiwala Toastmasters Club also presented speeches.

Thereafter, TM Ashika Jayathilaka of Maharagama Toastmasters Club carried out a very interactive and successful Table topics session which saw the active participation of members of both Toastmasters Clubs. Subsequently, the TMOD TM Komin carried out an exciting and enjoyable quiz on cartoons which further increased the engagement of everyone present.

The following speakers were judged the winners for the day in their respective categories.

• Best Evaluator – TM Saai Syvendra

• Best Table Topics Speaker – TM Saai Syvendra
