Meeting #85

The 85th Educational Meeting was held on the 28th of January 2023.

Role Players:

• Toastmaster of the day - Nafhan Nazeem

• General Evaluator – Samuel Arulanandan

• Grammarian – Komin Karunasekara

• Ah Counter – Rajindh Gooneratne

• Timer - Devinda Dissanayake

• Round Robin Master - Abarnah Kirupananda

The meeting started with the President welcoming all the toastmasters and guests and introducing the toastmaster of the day who is visiting from Awakening Toastmasters Club.

After the Toastmaster of the day began in an interesting fashion with a quote, the roleplayers gave a brief introduction of their roles, and the word of the day "Jubilant" was introduced by the Grammarian, TM Komin Karunasekara.

The Round Robin session which was carried out by TM Abarnah was certainly a unique one as she explained the benefits of AI tools such as CHATGPT before introducing the topic of "If you had the option to invent an AI tool, what would it be" 

Next, there were 3 wonderful prepared speeches given by TM Abarnah, TM Saai,and TM Ammar.

TM Abarnah then carried out the Club's Moments of Truth session in order to evaluate the progress of the Club in terms of creating a positive first impression and dealing with situations critical to Club success.

The meeting concluded with the guests sharing their experience of their first meeting at Dehiwala Toastmasters and how much they were able to enjoy and learn from the meeting.

The meeting was then concluded by the President thanking the visiting Toastmasters from Awakening and Wednesday 7 Toastmasters Clubs for their participation and encouraged the guests present to keep coming for meetings in order to ensure they keep improving.

Overall it was a very interesting and enjoyable meeting, which saw the active participation of all the members and guests present and everyone was definitely able to learn a lot! Looking forward to many more such meetings!
