Meeting #82

The 82nd Educational Meeting was held on the 10th of December 2022 under the theme "Movies and Series"

Role Players:

• Toastmaster of the day - Ragavi Ratnaranjan

• General Evaluator – Samuel Arulanandan

• Grammarian – Rajindh Gooneratne

• Ah Counter – Bhagya Herath

• Timer – Ammar Jawfer

• Round Robin Master - Samuditha Samaratunga

• Table Topic Master - Saai Syvendra

The meeting was started interestingly with the TMOD TM Ragavi asking each member present to select their favourite movie character and introduce themselves as that character. Next, role players began by explaining their roles, and the word of the day, “arduous” was introduced.

An interactive Round Robin session was held by the Area Director DTM Samuditha in which everyone present had to explain how a particular movie/series changed their perspective on life. It was certainly a very unique and interesting session that saw the active participation of everyone present.

Next, the TMOD TM Ragavi had a special fun-filled session in which everyone present had to participate in a quiz on various different movies and TV Series.

There were 3 wonderful prepared speeches given, including 2 icebreaker speeches by Toastmasters Bhagya Herath and Devinda Dissanayake who began their Toastmasters journey.

A wonderful Table Topics session was held as well, going in line with the general theme of movies and series. It was great to see the 2 guests present taking up table topics as well.

The meeting concluded with the 2 guests sharing their experience of their first meeting at Dehiwala Toastmasters and how much they were able to enjoy while learning at the same time.

Overall it was a very entertaining and unique meeting, which saw the active participation of all the members and guests present and everyone was definitely able to learn a lot! Looking forward to many more such meetings!
