The 80th Educational Meeting was held on the 12th of November 2022 under the theme, "Mystery"

Role Players:

• Toastmaster of the day - Komin Karunasekara

• General Evaluator - Ammar Jawfer

• Grammarian - Bhagya Herath

• Ah Counter - Rajindh Gooneratne

• Table Topic Master - Komin Karunasekara

The following Toastmasters were given the below awards:

• Best Speaker – Saai Syvendra

• Best Evaluator – Ragavi Ratnaranjan

• Best Table Topic Speaker – Gayan

The meeting started in an unorthodox fashion with “Detective Hoover” informing us that he will be taking over as TMOD as TM Komin has been killed by 3 members present. Next, the role players began explaining their roles and the word of the day, “tenacity” was introduced. The Round Robin session was skipped as there were 4 prepared speeches to be given, which included 2 icebreaker speeches given by new Toastmasters embarking on their Toastmaster journey. Table Topic sessions were held all going in line with the theme of the day “mystery”, as each member present was handed an envelope which determined whether or not they had to take up a table topic and the order of speaking. This saw the active participation of many of the toastmasters and guests present and made the meeting a very memorable one.

The meeting was concluded with “Detective Hoover” identifying the “3 killers” with the help of certain clues given and with the help of the members present. The guests present at the meeting shared what an enjoyable experience it was and commented on how much they were able to learn through the interesting session.

Overall it was a very entertaining meeting, with many great prepared speeches, along with some interesting table topics and everyone present was definitely able to learn a lot! Looking forward for many more such meetings!
