Meeting #174

The 174th  Educational Meeting , was held on the 26th September 2026 at Life Centre, Ridgeway Place , Colombo 04.

The meeting was led by Toastmaster of the Day, TM Sandali, who introduced the enchanting “Welcome to Hogwarts” theme, transforming the evening into a magical Harry Potter-inspired experience filled with imagination, creativity, and fun. 

The evening began with an interactive Round Robin session conducted by TM Danusika, where members answered the magical question, “If you had a magical power, what would it be?” The session encouraged everyone to unleash their imagination and share the magical abilities they would love to possess.

We then moved on to the Prepared Speech session, featuring two engaging speeches. TM Damika shared his experience of being shortlisted by four companies and navigating the interview process, offering valuable insights from his own journey. TM Ziyaaf delivered his Level 1, Project 4 speech, showcasing his continued progress in his Toastmasters journey.

The evening also featured a wonderful presentation on the Leadership Excellence Series, conducted by TM Abarnah. The session provided members with valuable insights into leadership and encouraged everyone to further develop their leadership skills.

Adding to the magical atmosphere, TM Sandali conducted a fun-filled Harry Potter-themed guessing game. Members were divided into groups, and one member from each group had to explain a given object without mentioning the exact word. The objects were connected to the Harry Potter theme, making the activity both challenging and entertaining while encouraging creativity and teamwork.

The magical journey continued during the Table Topics session, skillfully conducted by TM Harini. The Harry Potter-inspired topics allowed members to stay immersed in a world of fantasy and magic while challenging them to think on their feet and deliver creative impromptu speeches.

The evening concluded with thoughtful evaluations, where speakers received constructive feedback and valuable insights to support their continued growth throughout their Toastmasters journey.

The meeting was then adjourned, bringing another enjoyable evening of learning, laughter, creativity, and magical fellowship to a close.
