Meeting #173

The 173rd  Educational Meeting , was held on the 5th September 2026 at Life Centre, Ridgeway Place , Colombo 04.

The meeting was led by Toastmaster of the Day, TM Shrenik, who introduced the “Back to School” theme, taking everyone on a nostalgic journey filled with fun, memories, and memorable school-day experiences.

The evening began with an interactive Round Robin session conducted by TM Jaindu, where members shared the most hilarious punishment they had received at school. The session brought out plenty of laughter as members recalled some of their funniest and most unforgettable school memories.

We then moved on to the Prepared Speech session, featuring two engaging speeches. TM Zeenath delivered her first Ice Breaker speech, titled “Who Am I?”, giving members an opportunity to learn more about her. TM Anouki delivered an insightful speech about her proposal, presenting a well-structured speech that covered the essential elements of an effective proposal, including the problem, proposed solution, benefits, and other key aspects.

Adding to the excitement, TM Shrenik conducted a fun-filled quiz based on different school subjects, including History, Science, and Geography. The activity brought back the competitive spirit of school while creating plenty of fun and engagement among the members.

The nostalgic journey continued with a wonderful Table Topics session conducted by TM Aanandi. The topics encouraged members to think on their feet while reminiscing about their school lives and sharing memorable experiences from their school days.

The meeting was made even more special by the presence of our Area Director, TM Hemantha, who shared valuable insights and guidance with the club. His presence and words of encouragement added great value to the evening and inspired members in their continued Toastmasters journey.

The evening concluded with thoughtful evaluations, where speakers received constructive feedback and valuable insights to support their continued growth throughout their Toastmasters journey.

The meeting was then adjourned, bringing another enjoyable evening of learning, laughter, nostalgia, and fellowship to a close.
