Meeting #170

The 170th Educational Meeting , was held on the 08th August 2026 at Life Centre, Ridgeway Place , Colombo 04.

The meeting was led by Toastmaster of the Day, TM Abishek, who introduced the Run-Up theme, creating an energetic atmosphere that encouraged members to reflect on important moments and experiences that have shaped their lives. 

The evening began with an interactive Round Robin session, where members shared a trigger moment that changed their lives. The session sparked meaningful conversations as members reflected on memorable experiences and the impact those moments had on their personal journeys. 

We then moved on to the Prepared Speech session, where TM Aanandi and TM Husna delivered their respective Level 2, Project 1 and Level 1, Project 4 speeches. Both speakers demonstrated their progress and continued development throughout their Toastmasters journey. 

Adding to the excitement, members participated in a fun-filled activity that combined Hangman and Scribble into one creative game. Members were divided into two teams and had to put their communication, guessing to the test. The activity brought plenty of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition to the meeting. 

The energy continued during the Table Topics session, skillfully conducted by TM Aanandi, where members were challenged with thought-provoking topics and encouraged to think on their feet while delivering engaging impromptu speeches. 

The evening concluded with thoughtful evaluations, where evaluators provided constructive feedback and valuable insights, helping every speaker continue their Toastmasters journey.
