BIOGRAPHY OF EBENEZER BOAKYE-MANU (DEGUY GH)

BOAKYE-MANU EBENEZER (born 30 March) is a Ghanaian Comedian, Digital Creator and Administrator Popularly known as Deguy Gh. He played the title roles on the sitcoms “Boys Don Suffer” (2020) on Detime TV. 

 Ebenezer (Deguy Gh) first came to prominence on TikTok (2022), receiving the Best Young Comedian, and Best Actor of the year (2022) at GHTEA 2022 Awards where he performed a skit on stage;Deguy GH performance at national theatre  

He bagged YouTube Creator Silver Awards in March 2023 and became among the best 5 most trending comedy YouTube channels in Ghana 2023. He begged most excelling TikTok of the year (2023) at GHTEA 2023 Awards. 

He was the best dancer partaking in Inter House Competition at Anum Presbyterian senior high school 2011.

Ebenezer (Deguy Gh) has over 900 comic videos on TikTok with over 2 Million followers (2021 – 2024), On YouTube he has over 400 comic videos with over 266,000 subscribers (2024). He has over 400 comic videos on Facebook with over 615,000 followers and on Instagram he has over 155,000 followers with over 800 comic videos. 

EARLY LIFE 

Ebenezer was born in Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana on 30th March. The youngest of 3 boys and the last born among his siblings, his parents were Samuel Kwaku Abredu Manu, a Prison Officer and Rose Opong, a Pastor. His two brothers are Frank Manu and Martin Manu, his four sisters are Patricia Manu, Mavis Manu, Eunice Manu and Charlotte Manu. 

Ebenezer was brought up Christian, and was educated at Police Deport (a preparatory, primary and junior high school), and then Anum Presbyterian senior high & did his bachelor Degree and HND at University of Ghana. 

CAREER 

Ebenezer is an Administrator, IT Coordinator and Graphic Designer with 6 years of professional work experience, he has a BSc in Business Administration & HND in Public Administration at University of Ghana and Certified in Hardware & Software Operations. At Self Search Ghana he was Assisting the Facilitator (content developing i.e Powerpoint,etc & IT related) for certification programs; Prefect Leadership Build with Senior High Schools in Ghana, Emotional Intelligence with Cargill Ghana Limited & Cargill Kokoo Limited, Supervisor as a Coach with MTN, Public Speaking & Coaching Made Simple with MTN Women. 

He has worked with Accra Wesley Girls High as a Teacher (National Service), GloApps Limited as a Business Development Executive (Technical & Digital), Self Search Ghana Limited as an IT Coordinator & Assistant Administrator and Judicial Service as a Secretary at Court Manager secretariat (Internship).

His potential skills are Computer|Technical Literacy, Skilled User of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Etc.), Writing Business Proposals, Public Speaking, Digital Marketing, Data Analysis (SPSS) & Emotional Intelligence.
