#DegreesNYC supports inclusive “student-ready” cultures and policies at schools and on college campuses. Specifically, we support policies and system changes so that students
take on leadership roles in shaping culture, curriculum, pedagogy, and discipline,
feel safe, respected and celebrated
see people like them teaching, counseling and leading who are fully trained in culturally/racially responsive, restorative and trauma-informed practices
study curriculums that reflect their lives, communities, histories and values
have robust support services
participate in restorative justice
experience equitable testing and grading policies
