Who are we?
Defenders is part of Stoa, a national Christian homeschool speech and debate league. We desire to teach students to enhance their communication and critical thinking skills through speech and debate competitions. Our goal is to enable students to represent Christ with integrity and excellence at competitions and throughout life. Our parent-led club offers both speech and debate; families may choose to participate in one or both areas.
The benefits of Speech and Debate are innumerable! We offer opportunities to learn various Speech events and Debate styles like Team Policy (policy), Lincoln Douglas (values), and Parliamentary (limited prep) debate through parent-led coaching and competitive tournaments. In addition to developing their rhetoric and research skills, students also grow in faith, character, and friendship/community.
