What a fantastic summer it’s been! We’ve had a blast Leveling Up with all of you—playing Arcade Basketball, enjoying Friday Fun Days, getting creative during craft time, and connecting with our amazing community.
Don’t forget! July 3rd is the final day to turn in your Reading Logs and claim your weekly prizes. After that, we’ll announce our exciting grand prize winners!
We are closed Friday, July 4th and will reopen Monday July 7th.
The book drop is available 24/7. You may return Deer Creek Library items, or items from other libraries as well. If you're unable to pick up any book requests before July 3rd, please give us a call (309-447-6724) and we can put them in our Pick-up Lockers outside the library. Then you're able to pick up your books at a time that's convenient to you. Happy 4th of July!
What: Coffee and Community with Rich Brehmer
Join us on the second Wednesday of every month at 10:30 AM, as we host Coffee and Community! Enjoy complimentary coffee and tea while socializing with fellow community members. This month, come say hello to Rich Brehmer, our local Tax Assessor since 2005! He’ll bring forms, answer questions, and share a bit of local history.

🎨 Sky Color: A Creative Art Experience! 🌈
Join us for a fun, hands-on art session inspired by the book Sky Color!
Designed for kids in PreK–5th grade, this interactive workshop encourages young artists to think outside the box by using non-traditional colors to express emotion and mood in their artwork.
Children will create their own unique masterpiece and take it home at the end of the session!

Cricut Basics: Hands-On Beginner Class - Personalized Acrylic Keychains

Curious about Cricut? Learn the basics and create personalized acrylic keychains using permanent vinyl in this free beginner-friendly class—no experience necessary!
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Join us for an interactive Cricut class designed for beginners! Whether you're thinking about trying a Cricut for the first time or want to confidently use the one available at Deer Creek Library, this class will give you hands-on experience. You'll learn the essentials and create Personalized Acrylic Keychains
All materials are provided, and the class is completely free—thanks to the support of Deer Creek Library.
We recommend you bring your preferred device to use and learn on be it an iPad, Laptop, or Cellphone (Chromebooks are not compatible with Cricut Design Space. This is a hands-on course and it will be easier if you have a device you are comfortable to use during the class.
𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥:
• Learn what a Cricut machine is and how it works
• Explore the basics of Cricut Design Space software
• Practice cutting, weeding and transferring vinyl
• Create a personalized acrylic keychain
• Get comfortable using the Cricut machine available to patrons at the library
• Leave with a finished project and new skills you can use again!

Explore simple machines and how they are used in everyday life. In this lesson hear the story of the Gingerbread Man and learn about the simple machine, the wedge. Make your very own paper airplane to help out the Gingerbread Man cross over the river while using your knowledge of the wedge!

Join us for Makers Unplugged — a relaxed, screen-free craft night at the library! Whether you're into knitting, sewing, crochet, collage art, journaling, or just want to unwind with some coloring pages, there's a spot for you at our table.

Drop in for an afternoon of imagination and engineering during LEGO Time at the library! Whether you're a master builder or just getting started, there’s something for everyone. We'll provide the bricks—you bring the ideas!

If you are unable to make it during the open hours, don't forget that you have access to lockers outside the library 24/7. You can still request library items and then pick them up from the lockers.
