Kids 12 and under can read their way to a reward this Winter Break. Just read 3 books between Dec. 22 and Jan. 2, then turn in your list by Jan. 9 to earn a Texas Roadhouse Kids Meal token. Celebrate the season with great books!
Monday, January 5 through Friday, January 9
Search for hidden images of arctic animals throughout the library, and once you’ve found them all, claim your fun sticker as a prize. Fun for all ages—drop in anytime during open hours all week long!
Thursday, January 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Start the new year with intention and creativity! Join us for a relaxed, hands-on event where you’ll create a vision board that represents your goals, dreams, and the best version of you. This event is for ladies 18 and older. The library will provide supplies, and you’re welcome to bring your own. We have a small collection of magazines to find inspiring images and words.
Monday, January 12 through Friday, January 16
Stop by during open hours from January 12-16 to create your own snowflake for our community display. Help us create something beautiful together! Open to all ages.
What: Coffee and Community
Join us for a warm cup and friendly conversation! Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate while connecting with fellow community members.
When: Wednesday, January 14 from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. (2nd Wed. of every month)
Where: Deer Creek District Library 205 E. 1st Ave Deer Creek, IL
Thursday, January 15 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Drop in anytime from 3:30–5:30 to design your own beaded bag charm. We have a large selection of donated beads that are perfect for this craft, and your charm can be used on a water bottle, bag, purse—anything you like! All ages are welcome.
Friday, January 16 and 30 from 10-10:30 a.m.
We'll have stories, sign language, singing, and bubbles! Open to ages 0-5. Older siblings are welcome.
The book drop is available 24/7. You may return Deer Creek Library items, or items from other libraries as well. If you're unable to pick up any book requests by Friday, January 16, please give us a call (309-447-6724) and we can put them in our Pick-up Lockers outside the library. Then you're able to pick up your books at a time that's convenient to you.
Tuesday, January 20 through Friday, January 23
Stop in all week long to pick up your own Take & Make kit to make at home or at the library. Have fun creating a colorful neighborhood of snowy winter houses. This easy, low-mess craft is perfect for all ages and lets creativity shine!
Wednesday, January 21 from 10-11 a.m.
Start your day with a balanced breakfast. We’ll discuss strategies for planning ahead and share practical tips for creating nutritious morning meals. Enjoy a food demonstration and tastings, and take home easy-to-make recipes, while connecting with others on the same journey toward better health. Friday, January 23 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Zumbini is an early childhood development program focused on music & movement for children ages 0 to 5 years, to attend with their music-loving (Zumba loving!) caregiver(s). Older siblings are welcome. Caregivers must remain present.

If you are unable to make it during the open hours, don't forget that you have access to lockers outside the library 24/7. You can still request library items and then pick them up from the lockers.
