Effective Date: 28 February 2026]
At Deep Work, we believe that your productivity tools should never come at the cost of your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your data is handled when you use the Deep Work Chrome Extension.
Deep Work is designed with a "Local-First" philosophy. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. * We do not track the websites you visit.
We do not store your name, email address, or any contact information.
We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
To provide its core functionality, the extension requires specific permissions. Here is exactly how they are used:
Storage: We use chrome.storage.local to save your blocklists and timer settings. This data never leaves your device.
DeclarativeNetRequest: This is used to intercept requests to websites you have specifically chosen to block and redirect them to the internal "blocked.html" page.
Host Permissions (<all_urls>): This allows you to block any website on the internet. We only interact with the URLs you manually add to your blocklist.
Tabs & WebNavigation: These are used to refresh blocked tabs once your focus session ends, ensuring you can return to your work seamlessly.
All configurations, including your "Custom Groups" and "Blocklists," are stored locally within your browser's internal storage. If you uninstall the extension, all of this data is automatically deleted by the browser. We have no way to recover this data once it is removed.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your information to third parties. There are no external servers involved in the operation of Deep Work.
Deep Work complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deep Work does not collect any information from children. It is a productivity tool intended for general use.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the extension constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
