Privacy Policy – Deep Office: Viewer & Editor
Deep Office does not collect, sell or share your personal data. The app has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your documents, tasks and settings stay on your device.
1. Information stored on your device
The following is created by you and kept only on your device:
Documents you create or edit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, text), saved in Download/DEEP OFFICE or wherever you choose.
Tasks and reminders, including any photo you attach to a task. The photo is copied into the app’s private storage and deleted when you delete the task.
Calculator history, saved signatures and app settings.
Compressed images, saved in Pictures/DEEP OFFICE. Camera and location details (EXIF) are not copied into the compressed image.
The last downloaded currency rates, so the converter works offline.
We have no server that receives this information, and we cannot see it.
2. Permissions and why they are used
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): voice typing, only when you tap the microphone button. Optional; the app works without it.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): task reminders.
Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): firing reminders at the time you set.
Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): restoring your reminders after the phone restarts.
Internet (INTERNET): downloading currency rates and Google Play purchases.
Storage (Android 9 and older only): saving and opening your files on older Android versions.
The app uses the system camera app (for scanning and task photos) and the system file picker. It only receives the files and photos you pick.
3. Voice typing
When you tap the microphone, your speech is sent to your phone’s speech recognition service (usually Google) to be turned into text. That service is provided by your phone, not by us, and follows its own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Deep Office does not record, store or send audio itself.
4. Document scanning and text recognition
Scanning and text recognition (OCR) use Google ML Kit. Recognition runs on your device; your documents are not uploaded for processing. Google Play services may collect limited diagnostic data about ML Kit use (https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms).
5. Currency rates
The unit and currency converter downloads daily rates from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com), at most every 12 hours or when you tap update. The request contains no personal data, documents or amounts you enter. Like any website, the service can see your IP address (https://www.exchangerate-api.com/terms).
6. Subscriptions and in-app review
Deep Office Premium is sold through Google Play Billing (monthly or yearly, with a free trial). Payment is handled entirely by Google; we never receive your card or payment details. We only receive confirmation that the subscription is active. The in-app rating prompt is provided by Google Play In-App Review. See the Google Play Terms (https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/).
7. Widgets and notifications
Home-screen widgets and reminders show your tasks from local storage. Anyone who can see your screen can see them.
8. Sharing
We do not share data with anyone. A file leaves your device only when you share, send or print it yourself.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete tasks, files and signatures inside the app. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, removes everything in its private storage. Files saved in Download or Pictures stay until you delete them.
10. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
