It's very important to choose good books to learn mathematics. Mathematics is art so as an artist one needs a tool chest and that you can obtain from reading books written by masters. Lot of books just teach tricks, There is a place for tricks but in long learn one needs to develop mathematical way of thinking and that includes perseverance, problem solving and ability to concentrate.
