Language:

Choose the application language between French, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German or Japanese.

Polar ID:

If you have trouble connecting to your Polar H10 belt, you can enter the ID shown on the edge of the Polar sensor here.

Frequency of periodical computation and voice assistance:

In order to regularly have information on identified extrasystoles, heart rate and number of steps taken (during physical exercise), we enter the frequency of the periodic calculation in the settings. All calculations are then carried out at regular time intervals on the corresponding ECG segment, in order to have periodic and fast monitoring.

Segmented recorded files:

For long sessions, it may be advisable to segment the recorded files to make the results easier to process. The number entered in "segment length" represents the duration in minutes of each segment. This number is different from the frequency of periodical computation.

Your name:

You can enter your name here, to more easily identify the user when exporting results (PDF or EDF files).

Your age:

Enter your age here. Your age is used in various parts of the app, such as calculating heart rate zones and estimating calories burned.

Your gender:

Enter your gender here. Your gender is used in various parts of the app, such as calculating heart rate zones and estimating calories burned.

Your weight:

Enter your weight here. Your weight is used for estimating calories burned.

Your height:

Enter your height here. Your height is used for estimating calories burned.

Stride length during walk:

Enter your stride length during walk here in cm. It is used to estimate the distance traveled while walking.

Stride length during run:

Enter your stride length during run here in cm. It is used to estimate the distance traveled while running.

Voice assistance:

Select the items for which you want to have periodic voice information (the period is given by the parameter "Frequency of periodical computation and voice assistance").

INSTRUCTIONS

To connect to the Polar H10 it is necessary to wear the Polar belt. Press connection, the application will automatically detect your device. In case of connection difficulty, you can also indicate in the settings the ID which is on the edge of your Polar H10 sensor, then exit and restart the application. If you still cannot connect please verify that your device is not already connected to another bluetooth device.

It is best to lightly moisten the strap to improve signal quality. Poor signal quality can lead to false positives and therefore inaccurate predictions. When wearing the Polar H10 strap, make sure the sensor doesn\'t have the POLAR label facing down. This will cause the recorded ECG to be inverted, completely distorting the analysis.

Normally, the app can run for hours in the background. However, on some devices, to save battery life, Android may disconnect the Bluetooth connection or close the app during prolonged use. To prevent this, you may need to change some settings on your Android device. Typically, go to Settings/Apps, search for the Polar H10 ECG Check app, and click on it. Then click on Battery and choose "Unlimited." You can also go to Settings/Battery, then "Background usage limits", "Never put apps to sleep automatically", and add your app.

Push the button connection to start recording on your device. The Polar H10 records an ECG file, a file containing the heart rate and a file containing accelerometer data. These files are saved in the Documents folder of your cell phone, in the POLARH10_ECG_androidstudio, POLARH10_HR_androidstudio and POLARH10_ACC_androidstudio subfolders. The recordings are in the form of text files whose name is the recording date. For the ECG file, the recording is stored at the end of each period (defined in settings). For very long sessions, it is possible to segment the files in order to facilitate post-processing (in particular the waves and segment analysis). In this case the long session is divided into as many sessions of the desired length. The length of each segment can be chosen in the settings.

All calculations are then carried out at regular time intervals on the corresponding ECG segment, in order to have periodic and fast monitoring.

After each cycle, those periodic data are merged in order to provide information on the number of extrasystoles, heart rate, number of steps ,speed and cadence calculated since the start of the recording. The number of extrasystoles is then equal to the sum of extrasystoles identified over each period or ECG segment. We can display the merged ECG signal by clicking on the left button and once the search is completed, press the button to the right to view the extrasystoles. Each time you click on this button, the next extrasystole is displayed in the ECG.

The ECGLive button allows you to follow the ECG recording live over the last 60 seconds.

It is also possible to search for extrasystoles from the start of the recording but this may take several minutes depending on the power of your device and the duration of the recording. Note that the results may be slightly different from those obtained with the periodic search, since in the latter case the search is carried out on segments of the ECG which are then merged and not on the entire signal. To search from start click on the left button then on the button to its right to view the extrasystoles in the ECG.

Clicking on this button provides access to previously made recordings in a new page, and carry out a certain number of treatments.

Allows you to choose an ECG recording on your device and perform a new analysis for extrasystoles. An analysis of heart rate variability is also performed. Open the ECG file located in the POLARH10_ECG_androidstudio folder.
