Since you have decided to stop by here, let me take this opportunity to introduce myself.Â
I am Deepak, and probably one of the few mononymous persons you are going to know about and even meet in person (if our path ever crosses). Professionally, I am an astrophysicist and trying to understand the formation and evolution of our home galaxy, the Milky Way.
I completed my schooling in 2010 in my home town Panipat (famous for three historic battles that shaped the fates of the Maratha and Mughal Empires in India). Then I joined the Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, to learn more about physics. I received a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics degree in 2013 and joined the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) for further studies. I received a Master of Science in Physics degree from IITG in 2015 (the first one in my family's history!). I did my PhD in Physics from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. During my PhD, I worked on the chemodynamic studies of our home galaxy, the Milky Way. From 2022 to 2024, I worked at the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences. At present, I am employed at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland.
