Kyungsup Kim is a Professor in the division of Computer convergence.
Prof. Kyungsup Kim received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Seoul National University in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2000.
Following his doctoral studies, he joined LG Innotek as a Senior Researcher, where he worked from 2000 to 2002.
He then researched to academia as a postdoctoral researcher at Seoul National University from 2002 to 2003.
He further broadened his international research experience as a Visiting Scholar at the Network Systems Laboratory, Purdue University, from September 2003 to February 2004.
Since 2004, Prof. Kim has been a faculty member in the Division of Computer Convergence (formerly the Department of Computer Science and Engineering) at Chungnam National University. He has also served as a Visiting Researcher at the School of Computing, Newcastle University.
His research interests include machine learning, deep learning, and the theory of Kalman filtering, which underpin his research. Building on these foundations, his current work focuses on optimization, signal processing, and scientific computing, along with their applications in big data analytics, smart mobility, and wireless communications.
