DE Consulting was established by David Elliot in March 2015 and its work includes:
General foster carer, restoration, kinship and guardianship assessments.
Carer reviews.
Assessments are contracted either directly or through Child and Family Practice Leadership
Review of a team's case management practice – 2020.
Completed assessment of general foster carers and guardians and complex carer reviews.
Investigated reportable conduct in complex and contentious cases.
Review of NSW Clinical Service.- 2016.
Project addressing ‘Problematic and harmful sexual behaviours of children and young people in residential OOHC: preventing, identifying and responding.’ Developed an action/ implementation plan; established an advisory group with external stakeholders and; developed policy, resources, and training for staff.
Developed a Ready Reckoner for LWB NSW on roles and responsibilities regarding client incidents, reportable conduct, reportable incidents, and complaints.
Developed an improved set of tools for leaving care planning which simplifies processes, assists in engaging with young people and meets OCG requirements.

Developed the participant's workbook for a new course ‘Investigating serious incidents in disability services’.
Researched and engaging with the disability sector to deliver resources, practice guides, and training material to assist frontline staff in the ‘Initial and early response to abuse and neglect in disability services’. Developed a guide ‘Initial and early response to workplace child abuse and neglect’.
Updated courses material for “Effective complaint management’ and ‘Frontline complaint management’.
Investigating complex complaints which were unable to be internally resolved (related to reportable conduct matters for both salaried staff and authorised carers).
Investigated reportable conduct allegations.
Reviewing and updating Reportable Conduct Unit policy and procedures.
Reviewing findings of DCJ Reportable Conduct Unit.
Member of Professional Advisory Group since 2016
Provide review and quality assurance of authorised clinicians reports at times when this cannot be managed internally at the clinic.
