DecodeMe is an app that helps users analyze screenshots of conversations using artificial intelligence.
Data we process
When you use DecodeMe, you may choose to upload screenshots of conversations. The app may extract text from those screenshots using OCR and send the extracted text and analysis context to our backend in order to generate an AI-based analysis.
We may process:
screenshots selected by you
text extracted from screenshots
analysis category selected by you
age range selected by you
optional saved analysis history
app language and local preferences
anonymous installation identifier
technical data necessary to protect the service from abuse
How we use data
We use this data only to:
generate your requested analysis
provide app functionality
prevent abuse and excessive use
improve security and reliability
We do not sell your data.
Screenshots and extracted text
DecodeMe does not permanently store your screenshots or extracted text by default.
Screenshots are copied temporarily for processing and are deleted when the analysis finishes, fails, or is cancelled. Extracted text is used temporarily to generate the analysis and is not saved by default.
The app cannot control temporary caches created by your device operating system, image picker, or third-party providers.
AI processing
To generate analysis, DecodeMe sends the necessary text and context to our backend, which then sends the request to OpenAI. The OpenAI API key is stored only on our backend and is not included in the mobile app.
Saved analysis history
Analysis results are not saved automatically.
You can choose to save an analysis by pressing “Save analysis”. Saved analyses are stored locally on your device. You can delete your saved history at any time from Profile > Privacy and Data.
Deleting your data
You can delete your saved analysis history or all local app data from Profile > Privacy and Data.
“Delete all my data” removes local saved analyses, profile data, consent status, preferences, anonymous installation ID, temporary files controlled by the app, and local session data.
Third-party services
DecodeMe may use the following third-party services:
OpenAI, for AI analysis processing
backend hosting provider, for securely processing requests
Google Play or Apple App Store services, depending on your device
These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.
Age requirement
DecodeMe is intended for users aged 16 or older.
Sensitive information
You should only upload screenshots that you have the right to share. Avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive information, such as phone numbers, addresses, financial information, health information, passwords, or private data of other people.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the service, including encrypted transmission, backend processing, temporary sessions, and rate limits.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
