Decisive is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data, our local-first approach, and your rights as a user.

1. Local-First Data Model

Your decisions, notes, tags, categories, thinking entries, and attachments are stored on your device by default. The app is designed to remain usable offline for core decision journaling. We do not have access to your private entries.

2. Encrypted Export/Import and User Passphrase

• Encrypted export/import is a Premium feature.

• Export creates an encrypted file and requires you to set a passphrase.

• Import requires the correct passphrase (or configured recovery path) to decrypt data.

• Responsibility: You are responsible for remembering and protecting your passphrase. If the passphrase is lost and no recovery path is available, encrypted exports may be unrecoverable.

• Permissions: Export/import may request file/storage access to read or write files you choose.

3. Subscriptions and Third-Party Services

Decisive offers subscription options via Google Play Services, including Premium and Advanced Premium tiers.

• Features available depend on your active plan and subscription status (including grace/hold/expiry states).

• We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. You can find the privacy policies of these providers here:

4. Attachments

You may attach files to a decision. You are responsible for the content and legality of these files. The app uses system file handlers to open these; behavior may vary by device and Android version.

5. Diagnostics and Improvements

The app may record limited diagnostic events (errors, performance timings) to improve reliability.

• Privacy by Design: Diagnostic records avoid storing your private decision content.

• User Control: Sharing diagnostic data is not mandatory. You will be prompted on Mondays to decide if you wish to send diagnostic data to the developers via email only.

6. Security: App Lock and Biometrics

Decisive provides an optional app lock using device biometrics and/or a PIN.

• Implementation: The app uses Android’s BiometricPrompt API. We do not have access to, nor do we store, your actual fingerprint or facial data; authentication is handled entirely by the Android Operating System.

• Responsibility: You are responsible for keeping your device security credentials secure.

7. Data Loss and Backups

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. In case of accidental deletion, device loss, corruption, or passphrase loss, recovery may not be possible. Neither the app nor its developers guarantee data recovery in these scenarios.

8. Children’s Privacy

Decisive does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately.

9. Data Deletion

Since Decisive is local-first, you can delete all your data at any time by:

1. Using the "Clear All Data" option within the app settings.

2. Uninstalling the application from your device.

10. Acceptance and Changes

By using Decisive, you agree to these terms. We may update these terms as features evolve. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
