It is of no doubt that decentralized web is the future of tech-world or we can say post blockchain technology. But the question arises is, will it be free unlike today’s platforms?

To that, the answer is yes, but then, how will we make money out of that?

Decentralized web has to be fair at all costs for all of its participants as nowadays the monetizing model seems unfair for some of its participants (we’ll discuss about this later)

What is Decentralized Web?

Decentralized web project consists of a web which will provide a platform to the users for direct peer-to-peer communication with other users without the involvement of third-party intermediary. The engagement may be a chat, a file transfer or funds transfer.

What is Decentralized Monetizing Model?

Current Monetizing Model generally involves 4 participants i.e. The Platform, Content Creator, Advertiser and the User. The flow of payment between these participants is such that the platform owner pays the content creator and itself gets paid by the advertiser whereas the user has access to the variety of content for free of cost, the only condition is, user has to watch ads in between the content.

However, it has some loop holes which needs to be considered. We told about how current decentralized monetizing model is unfair to some participants so we shall discuss about them here in detail.

Current monetization model suggests that the viewer should not be paid for viewing ads which in turn costs the platform as the viewer starts opting for ad-blockers and ignoring ads attached with the content. Impressions are worthless when there are no clicks but what about the click-baits? The advertiser paying for the ads receives a very less amount in comparison to the platform owner and the content provider.

It clearly indicates that the ones who are at a loss are the advertiser and the user.

To overcome this drawback, Decentralized web project makes sure the user gets paid for viewing ads willingly or has the access to block ads if not needed. The platform is completely in-charge of paying every viewer viewing the ads. This model will assure that the viewer genuinely watched their ad.

Mechanism of distribution of payments involves no banks (i.e. no extra processing fees) as credit cards are not applicable in the dWeb monetizing model. The only option one is left with is the Exchange of Crypto currencies because of their worldwide acceptability. There’s a wide variety of choices when choosing the right payment options but some of the best option are the coins created by crypto-exchanges, stable coins like Tether’s USDT and Circle’s USDC and the last choice anyone would consider is corporate and government based coins but these are very difficult to operate as they are not available because of political reasons.
