Drs. Ayesha Joshi and W. Marcus Lambert are leading the newly launched Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, with the goal of supporting postdoctoral researchers through:
Career and professional development programming and resources
Assistance in finding funding opportunities and applying for fellowships
Counseling postdocs with respect to mentors, training, career opportunities, and university policies
Social/networking events

Tirtha Ratnam joins the Office of the SVPR as the new program coordinator.
Tirtha received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, with a focus in Cognitive Science and Behavioral Biology. In her last year of undergraduate studies, she worked as a research assistant in the WellBeing Lab under PI Dr. Kirk Brown. In her role, she conducted research on the effects of mindfulness and meditation on emotional responses to stressors.
About a year after graduating in the Spring of 2021, Tirtha moved to Brooklyn and was working for a healthcare startup company based in Manhattan. She joined the Downstate community in September 2022, and in her role as program coordinator organizes SVPR office-sponsored events, programming, and works across departments to support SVPR research initiatives.
