The Decatur Service Unit supports ~ 50 Girl Scout Troops in the City of Decatur and Avondale Estates, Georgia and serve Girl Scouts from kindergarten through twelfth grade in all City of Decatur public schools, St. Thomas More School, The Museum School, The Waldorf School, and The Friends School.
The Decatur Service Unit is under the umbrella of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta (GSGATL). The council serves approximately 41,000 girls and comprises 34 counties in northwest Georgia. Together the GSGATL works to fulfill the mission of the Girls Scouts of America -- to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.
The Decatur Service Unit leaders meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM (August – May) at Decatur First United Methodist Church, 300 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur. Please use the entrance on Commerce St. under the portico. At this time babysitting is not available. Check out our meeting schedule.
We’re currently seeking troop leaders for Girl Scouts from kindergarten through 12th grade. There is a critical need for new Daisy troops in the Decatur Service Unit, so if you or someone you know is looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in girls' lives, please contact our leadership team.
