The District 65 Educator’s Council (DEC) is the professional organization representing certified and licensed professionals who proudly serve the Evanston/Skokie School District 65. DEC has approximately 750 members and is affiliated with Region 41 of the Illinois Education Association (IEA) and the National Education Association (NEA). DEC works for the welfare of children and is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders for great public schools.

DEC strives to work for the welfare of all children

and the advancement of equitable educational opportunities and

to work proactively for social justice issues

and to acknowledge racial and cultural biases.

In addition, DEC will work towards eliminating institutional structures

and practices that negatively affect student learning and achievement.
