Debraj Rakshit (PI)
Debraj Rakshit is currently working as a faculty (Reader-F) at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Prayagraj, India. Debraj received his PhD in 2013 from the Washington State University (WSU), USA. His research was supervised by Prof. Doerte Blume (currently relocated at the University of Oklahoma, USA). Following his PhD, he pursued postdoc in the quantum information and computation (QIC) group at the HRI (with Prof. Ujjwal Sen and Prof. Aditi Sen(De)). This was followed by postdocs at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Science (IF-PAN), Warsaw, Poland (in the ultracold gas group led by Prof. Mariusz Gajda) and the Institute of Photonic Science (ICFO), Barcelona, Spain (in the quantum optics group led by Prof. Maciej Lewenstein). During his stay at the ICFO, his position was also tied to Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics, Garching, Germany. Debraj joined as an assistant professor at the Banaras Hindu University, India in 2020 and moved to HRI as a faculty in 2021. Debraj received Distinguished Scholar, Super TA and College of Science fellowship awards at the WSU. He is a recipient of the Cellex-ICFO-MPQ fellow award at ICFO. He was awarded Early Career Research Grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) in 2021.
