Debra Guckenheimer, PhD

Meet Debra Guckenheimer, a disabled writer and activist. She was a Sociology, Human Development, and Women's Studies Lecturer at California State University, East Bay. She worked as a Research Associate at the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University, Visiting Assistant Professor at Bowdoin College, and a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation Program at Northeastern University. She is an expert on efforts to reduce inequalities based on race, class, gender, sexuality, and disability and to make organizations more equitable and inclusive. She has appeared in USA Today, the Center for American Progress, and on public radio. She has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.A. in Politics from Oberlin College.
