The musicality of a voice that seems, like Emily Dickinson's, to be seeking silence is sublimated into the cadences of a poetics of yearning. Like insects trapped in amber, the poems hold up to the light moments of love and loss before dissolving them so as to leave only translucence. The reader is left free to step back or take action instead of being stuck on the surface of a brilliant artefact.
Deborah Cox has featured alongside Tristram Fane Saunders, Simon Maddrell, Fiona Perry, Sue Wallace-Shaddad, Dan O'Brien, Adnan Al-Sayegh, Rachael Clyne, Pat Winslow and Alex Mazey to name a few.
