This is an update many of us have been hoping for. We can now generate a shareable public link to a Gemini Chat, Gemini Storybook or Gemini Canvas created interactive! Watch my video to see this in action. IMPORTANT NOTE: Never share personal information or student information with a public link!
Kathleen, my friend and colleague at North HS, is one of the most creative and talented educators I know. She recently shared with me the many ways that she uses NotebookLM to create instructional activities for her students. Watch my video to see an example.
My colleague, Amanda, at North HS reached out for help with creating a Family Feud game for her students. She was trying to use a PowerPoint template with no luck. I knew that I could help her by using Gemini Canvas. Watch my video to see how quickly and impressively Gemini can create an interactive game or other interactive activity.
I’m sharing my presentation from our EdTech Tool Slam event that took place on Thursday, March 5th at the EAA Education Center. My presentation is about using the many custom tools in Google Chrome browser. Enjoy!
Google just announced an update for Google Classroom. This is an update that many of us have book waiting for. Teachers can now create audio, video or screencasts right inside of Google Classroom. There are three places that the feature is available: in the stream, in classwork for an assignment or material and for leaving students feedback on their work in the comment section of an assignment.
Students can also use the feature inside of an assignment.
This post is a bit different that most of my posts where I share an instructional technology tool, strategy or idea.
Today, I share a video message I created for an organization to discuss the state of instructional technology at this time. There is a movement that is happening calling for the removal of devices and technology from the classroom. This video encapsulates my thoughts and ideas around the use of technology in today’s classrooms. The video is 3 ½ minutes long. I hope you will consider viewing what I have to say.
Recently I attended a webinar showcasing the newest updates in Padlet as well as some helpful tips and features. In today’s video I share a bunch of these.
Why use Padlet in the classroom? Padlet is a very versatile tool that acts as a digital bulletin board. Using Padlet boosts engagement, collaboration, and content curation. It enables real-time, multimedia sharing (text, images, links, videos) for brainstorming, formative assessments (exit tickets), and showcasing student work!
I highly recommend using Padlet for teaching and learning.
Here is the link to the Padlet Links to an external site.that I am presenting with in the video.
I am genuinely excited about this one. The Boost Whiteboard feature is brand new (released just in late January 2026), and it essentially solves one of the biggest challenges with digital whiteboards: monitoring the process, not just the result.
Usually, when we give students a whiteboard (digital or physical), we have to run around the room to catch mistakes. With Brisk Boost’s new update, the AI actually gives students in-the-moment feedback on their drawings and diagrams before they submit.
Watch my video to see the whiteboard in action and to hear some practical ways to use this in a classroom, designed to offload some of that immediate feedback work so you can focus on the deeper learning.
It’s finally here. Hapara now has the ability to record student Chromebook history. Watch my video to see how easy it is to set up and use.
Brisk Batch Feedback allow a teacher to give feedback to multiple students at once. Watch the two videos below to see how it works. Since Brisk Batch Feedback uses Google Drive or Google Classroom, to locate student submissions, it is important to know that when you create an assignment using Google LTI 1.3 in Canvas, the students' Google Documents appear in a folder called "Assignments" with sub folders for each course.
Upload a Google Slide Presentation and each slide will be placed on the WeVideo timeline. Use Video scripts with the WeVideo extension.
Check out these updates in my video!
Canva classwork is a great way to create an assignment and share it with students. Teachers can follow student progress along the way and give feedback.
