Sarah Voss, PhD is a postrdoctoral research in Science, Math, and Technology Education at Western Washington University. After completing her PhD at Drake University, she joined the NSF-funded CREST project at Western.
Kornkanok (Toei) Lertdechapat is a doctoral student in science education at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. She was a visiting scholar at Western Washington University for the Fall 2018 quarter, and I served as a co-advisor on her thesis. She is currently a Lecturer at Chulalongkorn University. Josie Melton is a senior lecturer in Science, Math, and Technology Education at Western Washington University and will be completing her PhD from the University of British Columbia in 2018. She was a 2017-2018 NSF CADRE Fellow. Dr. Melton collaborated on our CKT project as a postdoctoral researcher, and is my Co-PI om the newly funded CREST project.
Kelsey Gillstrom served as a graduate research assistant for the QuEST Program at the University of Missouri. She was a 2016-2017 NSF CADRE Fellow and attended the NARST Sandra K. Abell Institute for Doctoral Students. She received her PhD in 2018 and began a position with the Exploratorium's Institute for Inquiry in San Francisco. Most recently, she was hired as the Associate Director for Elementary Science and Content Integration for OSPI. You can find her on LinkedIn.
Dr. Dante Cisterna was a postdoctoral researcher with the NSF-funded Quality Elementary Science Teaching Program at the University of Missouri from 2015-2017. He then served as a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Cory Forbes on the UNICORN project at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His interests are in teacher education and assessment. In 2018, he accepted a full time position with Educational Testing Service (ETS). We get to work together again, as I recently received funding from the NSF DRK12 for a collaborative project with ETS!
Wachira Srikoom was a visiting scholar from Kasetsart University in Bangkok. He worked with me at the University of Missouri during 2016-2017. Dr. Srikoom now works for the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) in the Ministry of Education for Thailand. His interests are STEM education and teacher professional development.
Annie Arnone earned her Ed.D. in Elementary Education with an emphasis on STEM. As a NASA Endeavor Fellow, she developed an interest in online professional development, and earned a graduate certificate in online education as part of her degree. She put those skills to work as Dean of Students for the NASA Endeavor program's STEM teacher academy. Dr. Arnone is currently an Assistant Professor and Department Head of Advanced Graduate Programs, Curriculum and Instruction at Lindenwood University.
Rena Smith graduated in Spring 2017 with a PhD in Science Education and a focus on elementary science teacher education. Rena is currently a faculty member at Northwest Missouri State University.
Michele Lee was a collaborator on many projects, and was an advisee of the late Dr. Sandra K. Abell. Dr. Lee graduated in Fall 2014 with a PhD in Science Education and minor in Educational Policy. She served as Director of the Temple Teacher Residency Program before moving abroad.
Eun Ju Lee graduated in Spring 2015 with a PhD in Science Education and a specialization in science education for students with disabilities. She is currently directing an educational research institute, Wisdom Center, in Seoul, Korea.
Morgan Presley graduated in Spring 2015 with a PhD in Science Education and emphasis on College Science Teaching. She is epecially interested in faculty development and improving undergraduate science teachign and learning. Dr. Presley is currently an Instructor in Bioclinical Sciences at Ozarks Technical Community College.
Somnath Sinha served as a doctoral research assistant with the Leadership in Freshman Physics project, funded through an NSF Math and Science Partnership. He attended the Sandra K. Abell Institute for Doctoral Students and graduated with a PhD in Science Education in Fall 2014. Dr. Sinha began his career as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Maine. Dr. Sinha is currently a lecturer at the University of California, Merced. His research interests include teacher leadership.
Sevgi AYDIN was a visiting PhD student at Mizzou between 2010 and 2011. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Secondary Science Education at Yuzuncu Yil University in Van, Turkey. You can find her on ResearchGate.
Betul Demirdogen has BS, MS, and PhD degrees in chemistry education. She earned her doctorate from the Middle East Technical University in 2012 and spent a year in University of Missouri as a visiting scholar. Her research areas include nature of science, pedagogical content knowledge, argumentation, teacher self-efficacy, and teacher self-regulation. She was a faculty member in the Department of Science Education in Bulent Ecevit University, Turkey. Recently, she was a postdoctoral research associate/visiting scholar at the University of South Florida.
Sinan Özgelen was a visiting PhD student at Mizzou in 2008-2009. He was an Associate Professor at the Department of Elementary Science Education and served as the co-chair of the Institute of Educational Sciences at Mersin University in Turkey. You can find him on ResearchGate.
