My research is focused on cancer biology and comorbidities of cancer. My overarching research goal is to act on prevention as well as treatment in cancer research. I want to engage in translational science where affordable therapeutics reach the clinic and benefit patients. In this regard, I am interested in stress regulatory pathways and their role in carcinogenesis, drug resistance and immuno-suppression affecting tumor growth, metastasis and maintenance of the tumor microenvironment niche.

In my post-doctoral research, I am interested in understanding of the crosstalk between cancer cell and "normal cell" in causing pancreatic cancer associated cachexia. In my doctoral thesis work, I have investigated the mechanism behind the anti-cancer action of a naturally occurring metabolite for potential translation as a novel therapeutic in pancreatic cancer.

I want to endeavor in an academic research career with projects of the medical field such that third world countries like India receive affordable healthcare as well as preventive awareness.
