Hello! I am Debasis Panda, a passionate researcher and Prime Minister's Research Fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Model identification and efficient control techniques are the two challenging problems in the wind turbine industry, intending to minimize power fluctuation and structural vibration for steady output and sustained operation. Thus, accurate system identification and efficient design of control systems form the main objectives of my research work as PMRF fellow. Collaborating with Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and working under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Arunasis Chakraborty at IIT Guwahati has been a remarkable opportunity for me to delve deep into the complexities of system identification and efficient design of control systems for HAWT and explore innovative solutions to harness its immense potential.
I completed my Master's in Structural Engineering, which equipped me with a solid foundation in understanding the structural aspects and complexities of engineering systems, during my M.Tech. in NIT Agartala, I worked on analytical and experimental studies on passive controllers for seismic vibration mitigation of structures.
Before joining IIT Guwahati, I had the privilege of serving as an Assistant Professor under the TEQIP-III Project for more than 3 years, where I honed my teaching skills and had the chance to nurture the next generation of engineering minds.
