If you want to know more about me, this page is the right place for you. You can find my academic journey and hobbies below. Please feel free to let me know if you share anything common with me.
I come from Howrah, a district in the vibrant state of West Bengal, India. My family consists of my parents and me. I witnessed their incredible sacrifices to ensure I had access to education. My mother, in particular, has been my greatest inspiration, encouraging me to persevere in my studies despite facing numerous economic and social challenges—two struggles often deeply intertwined.
My academic journey began at Shibpur Sri Ramkrishna Vidyalaya, where I completed my 10th-level schooling. For my higher secondary education (10+2), I moved to Howrah Zilla School, which is where my love for mathematics and physics truly began to blossom. After completing high school, I realized that these two subjects were my calling, so I enrolled at Narasinha Dutt College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta, to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Physics. Alongside physics, I studied mathematics and chemistry—though chemistry and I had a challenging relationship, and completing that phase felt like a personal victory!
It was during my undergraduate years that my passion for theoretical physics took shape, thanks to a professor who profoundly influenced me. In my first year, Professor Tilak Sinha introduced us to quantum mechanics through an introductory course. His captivating teaching style, coupled with the elegance of the mathematical framework underlying in the quantum mechanics, opened my eyes to the fascinating way that this theory explains the fundamental structure of the universe. I was mesmerized, and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to explore the mathematical intricacies of nature further.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree with honors, I joined the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IITI) to pursue a Master’s degree in Physics, specializing in theoretical high-energy physics. This laid the foundation for the next step in my academic journey: joining the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) in Bengaluru as a doctoral student in the String Theory and Quantum Gravity group.

🎓 2020 - 2022 : Master's of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics at IIT Indore, India.
🎓 2017 - 2020 : Bachelor's of Science (B.Sc.) Hons. in Physics at Narasinha Dutt College (University of Calcutta), Howrah, India.
🎓 2015 - 2017 : Higher Secondary (10+2) from Howrah Zilla School, Howrah, India.
🎓 2005 - 2015 : Secondary from Shibpur Sri Ramkrishna Vidyalaya, Howrah, India.
🏆 I topped in my school in the Secondary Examination with 93.5 % in aggregate and stood 9th in the district. In my Bachelor's I topped in my college and I was among the top 20 students in the university with 82.87 % in Physics. In my Master's I topped in the Department of Physics at IITI with CPI 9.62.
🏆 I have cracked various national level entrance examinations in physics. In the year 2020, I cracked JAM (entrance exam for M.Sc. at IITs). In 2022, I cracked JEST (entrance exam for PhD at various research institutes in India). In 2023, I cracked GATE, JEST and NET (entrance exam for PhD).
🏆 In the year 2015 I became district level runner up in drawing competition. I have a diploma in painting.
🏆 During my school years, I have participated in many quiz competitions and got awarded several times.
During my leisure time, I find joy in connecting with the people closest to my heart, even though my circle is small and intimate. Each moment spent with them feels meaningful and recharges my spirit. One of my favorite activities is cooking; there’s something therapeutic about experimenting with ingredients and creating delicious meals. It’s as if the process of cooking itself breathes life into my mood, instantly making me feel refreshed.
Although my schedule often leaves little room for it, I have a deep passion for painting. Every brushstroke on the canvas feels like an escape into a world of creativity and self-expression. And when life gets overwhelming with work, I turn to video games. Immersing myself in their vibrant worlds provides a much-needed escape and gives me the relief I need to reset and keep going. What about you—how do you like to unwind?
