Biography:

I am Dr. Debabrata Bej. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor, at Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Department of & Multidisciplinary Innovation & Entrepreneurship (MDI&E) of Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation, Vaddeswaram, Andhra Pradesh, India. I have also started working as the R&D Cell Coordinator of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).

I completed my Ph.D. from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India, in 2025. I received M.Tech. Degree in VLSI Design and Embedded systems from the Institute of Technical Education and Research, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, India, in 2017. Before that, I received B.Tech. Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from St. Thomas' College of Engineering and Technology, Kolkata, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology), India in 2012. 

After completing B.Tech, I joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 2012 as Project Assistant. There, I worked on two sponsored research projects at the Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering Laboratory, Civil Engineering Department, Funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and IBM. After completing M.Tech, I worked on Special Manpower Development Program – Chip to System Design Project as a Project Assistant at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. I also worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Smart AgriTech Centre for Advanced Research and Development (SATCARD), IIT Palakkad. I also worked as a Research Scientist at Common Research and Technology Development Hub (CRTDH), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India.

I am working in the areas of Embedded Systems and Applications, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber-Physical Systems, Thin Film Deposition, Thin Film Characterization, Gas Sensors, Metal oxide nanostructures, sensor system for Air Pollution, and Agriculture, Flexible wearable sensor devices, and medical diagnostic devices. Overall, my research interest lies in designing and developing smart cyber-physical instrumentation. I have authored publications and hold patents. I am a Graduate Student Member and Young Professional of the IEEE.
