Your main enemy in this mod. These mobs can only detect by sound similarly to a warden and will attack anything that it hears. This completely changes how you will play minecraft as you now have to move slowly and carefully to avoid alerting them. The amount of Death angels in the world will increase each time one is spawned through a meteor or hatches through an egg, however when killed they will be removed from the world. They also spawn anywhere in the overworld after some time has passed and they progressed one stage.
Death Angels will detect you when you do ANYTHING. This ranges from breaking blocks to placing them and from running to swimming. The only time they won’t detect you is when you are crouch walking however this still comes with a caveat.
When the player is within an 8 block radius of a Death Angel the Panic effect is applied. This effect will produce a beating heart sound effect heard by the player and over time the Death Angel. The effect isn't always heard by the Death Angels however if you stay near one long enough it will detect and attack you.
This means that while you can crouch walk to not be heard, the Panic effect may still reveal you to them.
This is the most common and probably the first Death Angel you will encounter. They’re about as tall as the player and are extremely fast. They will always catch you no matter what however sometimes the path finding can be a bit buggy which may allow you to get to a safe spot and crouch walk out of danger. Hiding away in a villagers house that you have commandeered may seem safe however don't be fooled as these can and will happily tear straight through anything just to get to you. This includes stone meaning that if it has managed to spawn in a cave near yours it will rip right through the wall if you aren’t careful.
These are the biggest of the three. The queen death angel can be quite easily outrun partly because of its slow speed and partly because of its path finding which predicts your direction however does tend to make it spin slowing it down considerably so if you just turn and run in the opposite direction you’re most likely safe from them. Like the standard death angel they can destroy blocks however they cannot climb up walls and instead are responsible for spreading the fungus.
These Death Angels are significantly smaller than their full grown counterparts however also significantly quicker whilst packing the same punch making them a much bigger issue to deal with when on the ground. Unlike their adult companions though they can't break blocks or climb walls which makes them a much smaller threat to your base and slightly easier to get away from. They spawn from the mushrooms found on the meteors of the Queen Death Angels which develop into eggs with time. After killing 2 other entities the babies “grow” into Standard Death Angels.
Water:
Death angels cannot swim and drown rather quickly in water making it very useful to always be near a body of water. Most of the time they will go into the water right at the edge and just sit there waiting for you to come back out of it. It can also be used as a weapon against them as they can drown extremely quickly so if you can bait them in deep enough to the point where they cant climb out you can successfully manage to make it one less Death Angel to worry about in your world.
Hearing Aid:
The hearing aid is an item in the modpack which can stun the Baby and Standard Death Angels and removes their invincibility allowing you to kill them with weapons. Unlike the other 2 the Queen does not get stunned by the hearing aid however it still does remove the invincibility and allow it to take damage. This makes it an extremely useful and almost necessary part of your toolkit in your adventures throughout the world or even just to keep the numbers down to prevent from getting swarmed. The hearing aid has a cooldown of 30 seconds after each use however this cooldown will not start until the player has right clicked with the hearing aid again after use. When activated the hearing aid lasts for a total of about 5 seconds however when active the death angels can be very easily killed in 3 crit hits from an iron sword or stone sword.
